After 14 years of mostly sitting around with the pressure plate clamped shut, your clutch wave springs may have compressed. That could be the cause of the on/off feel.

No big deal.

I must say that the more I drive it the better it seems. It might be a combination of the clutch loosening up a little and me getting used to it.

In any event, there is no way I would consider doing anything about it unless a bigger problem would crop up. It is absolutely driveable now, and seems to be getting better.

trying flushing ur clutch fluid. small price to pay to solve all your issue.
