Hi guys, I need your opinions. My friend is selling his MY03 with 10,000 miles for $29,000. He also purchased an extended warranty for 75K miles or 5 years. Is this a good buy, or should I wait and get the new 04 instead?

You could get a new 04 for pretty close to that.

I would offer your friend about 27-27.5k.

He should probably take a bigger hit than $3-4k. That's about 10% depreciation, and I think you'll take more of a hit just by driving off the lot.

Unless he has some mods that you want, I would counter his offer and bring him down.

ALSO......never mix business and friends. A good motto I have learned to live by.

The extended warranty is barely worth the paper its printed on, due to Hondas unwillingness to perform warranty work. Instead they blame the driver/owner for abuse and dismiss the claim. Useless extended warranties.

I agree with hockey. Almost never a good idea to buy a car from someone you know.

And $29,000 is too much. A few people have got brand new '03's for $29,500~ give or take $200 either way.
