Default I need a new seat?????

Hello guys:

I'm kind of dizzy with this f****ng noise i have to hear everyday, the noise comes from the passenger seat, i don't know what happened but when i ride on uneven roads, the seat begins to shake from the "back", making a "clack clack clack" noise but LOUD, my mechanic said that the seat can be repaired, he tried and tried to find out what's the problem but seems the seat was ruined (remember, i bought a used 2000 s2000, and who knows what happened to it with the last owner), he advised me to get a new chair.

If I have to get a new seat, where can i get more confortable seats who fits exactly in my 2000 red S2000, i can buy by the web, but i need prices, i don't know, but i think the seat can be repair someway.

I'd get a 2nd opinion. The passenger side seat is well known for making a rattling noise (loud). Often if you sit the back of the seat up straighter, the noise will either go away or at least lessen. The best way to get rid of it is to get a passenger.

each seat comes in approximately 50 different parts and has a total bill of around $3700.00 - that's EACH!

I'd try to take the skin off your seat and see what the problem might be. If you still are under warranty - if it transferred - you might want to take it in and have them look at it. Just a thought.

Forgive me if you've already checked but a couple easy possibilities:
-the back of the seat is hitting the, umm, back of the seat area. Scooting or leaning it forward will solve this
-the passenger seatbelt is loose. This happens to me all the time. Putting the clip part of the belt on the shoulder of the seat, or buckling the passenger seatbelt will eliminate this possibility.
-the bolts holding the seat in are loose.

I hope it's something that simple. Good luck!

This might be obvious, but... did you check the seatbelt?

I notice a clacking sound on rough roads from the passenger side seat when nobody is there... Fix? Buckle the seatbelt. The buckle on the belt seems to always be in just the right position to knock against the plastic just inside and rear of the doorframe.

- Chris

edit: looks like jzr got in just before me

thank you guys, but it is no that simple, it's not the seatbelt, its the back of the seat, and yes a lean it and the noisse lessen but a little bit, maybe it has to thighten the bolts and screws,i think if it cannot repair at all, i have to get a aftermarket seat like momo or corbeau,????????????

I thought our seats were worth about USD$4500 each ...
