I've got this comment before, and im 25. The person saying it to me was walking across the street and goes "must be nice driving your dads car", and instantly i wanted to prove him wrong and show my registration and car payments, but it was much easier to say "f*** you" and drive off.

Let's be honest, though...few 19 year olds buy a car without help. I hate the depreciation of the S2000 because it's become the attainable go-to mod-a-car for every 18 year old with a job...cuz they live with Mom and Dad, don't pay rent or a mortgage, etc...

Not accusing the OP of this...but it's the stereotype and it annoys other guys.

Who gives a $hit though? Let that welfare abusing cock sucker go home to his miserable life and watch the bling bling rappers on MTV with their Bentley's. Every dumb ass wants to have the latest greatest modified car these days and leverages themselves to 80% of their net income to do it...meanwhile f'n up their credit and going into debt that will, eventually, need some sort of bailout.

It's society today. We're consumers through and through. People think it's more important to drive a nice car than it is to get an education and do something with your life. Fine with me, that dickhead is working doubles at McD's asking my wife and I if we want fries with our meals on the way to our next ski trip.

so wait you spelled allegations correctly, but not "rich" or "because"?

to be fair, I've never had this comment. Although I didn't buy my S until the age of 20.

if this post is legitimate, don't worry about what envious people say/will say. You know it's yours. They already think you are too young and far immature, no need to prove them correct.

Ignore them.

I bought mine at 17 with money I made working all through high school. I was proud of it and loved driving it around, but I learned to keep humble about it around peers.

I can't imagine owning something like this when I was a teenager. But then again, they didn't make too many really cool cars way back then.
