I have a "wanting a new car" problem ugh

I think most of us are bound by financial limitations, as am I. I have a good job that pays well but I also can't afford a 2nd car right now. The S is perfectly fine as a daily driver for me at this moment. I just go through phases every now and then but they will subside after a few days. I've recently made a few long trips in my car over the past 2 months and its agony in this car after 7 hours. This isn't a normal day to day activity though so right now, driving around town and trips to the local grocery store is more than sufficient in this car.
Eventually I'd like to own a 2nd vehicle though. I'll hold onto this as long as I can because I do realize how rare it is.

How about you enjoy your car as-is and put all your future earnings into a portfolio--maybe live within your means and stop wasting money on selling and re-buying cars over and over.
That way you can retire with $250k+ in cash, versus broke-ass with 2-3 cars you don't need.
You sound young enough to benefit from a combination of stocks and bonds--after you setup a 8-12 month emergency fund in the bank first.
You can thank me when you retire in comfort.

Anony,
I never meant to imply that I'm broke from buying cars out the wazoo. I own my own place, have no debt except for my car and pay for everything in cash. Since I do own a place, I can't afford a 2nd car at the moment. I do have a fluffy 401k and some stocks and bonds right now. Granted we can always sock more money away for a rainy day and for retirement. I'm talking strictly of my situation in the present. Trust me, I would have never bought this car if I was broke. I had my civic for 5 years. It's not like I'm trading every 6 months.

I am like you in that I think about cars a lot. I have thought about selling my car recently but every time I start typing a for sale thread here on s2ki I delete it. I'm sure I would regret selling my car. I'm the original owner of my 01 s2k and it currently has 27000 miles on it so at the current rate this car should last me till I'm dead...
