Default i have a lot of wind noise and a few other problem

im new to an s2000 and i have a few concerns about the noises it should and shouldnt have.
as far as driving at highway speeds (70-80mph) theres a whole lot of wind noise that sounds like its coming from the front of the softop i dont know if this is normal. if it is it doesnt bother me but im just curious. now the bad part , the tranny. the tranny has a crack on the bottom and the previous owner jb welded it pretty good but of course it still leaks. im getting a new tranny regardless but the tranny makes a lot of noise like if it didnt have good sound insulation sorta like a race car. i was wondering if i get a new tranny, should i still expect this? and also there is clutch buzz with my foot off the clutch, how do i fix that? and my last concern was the corner lights and side markers. my s has an ap2 full conversion and i was wondering if the corners and side markers should be on all the time when the lights are on they on turn on for the turn signal and hazards. how should it really be?

thank you any advice is appreciated

wind noise is going to be louder than because its a soft top but if its only coming from front area then I would check the front catcher (this sometimes get so worn and it wont pull the soft top tight).

crack on the tranny case isn't good. be very careful not letting the fluid get too low. the buzzing, I think there a recall on earlier s2000.

the side marker should stay off till you signal for a turn.

Wind noise from the top of the windshield is because the soft top strikers aren't taught enough to pull the top against the windshield. You can adjust them, or modify the latches.

As for trans. noise, I'd look and make sure the foam insert is in place over the shifter, under the center console. Without that one piece, it sounds like you are driving an old Jeep (or race car) since the transmission comes right into the cabin.

AP2 S2000 headlight assembly has four lights. Low beam, high beam, parking (orange bulb under clear lens), and turn signal (clear bulb under orange lens). The turn signal is mirrored on the front side panel and they only turn on with the signal stalk. Otherwise you should have parking lights at each corner - one bulb on each side.

If I simply latch my top and leave it, it tends to have a lot of wind noise as well. What I do to make sure it seats well is I put it up, latch it, and then with it latched make it try to go down again. This tucks the leading edge down and ensures its all tight up there. Been doing this for almost 2 years and it works great!

i haev a good bit of wind noise from my top while it is up also, between 120 and 150.. if i pull down on the frame towards the driver side it goes away. It iw a bit of whistling from air getting between the windsheild frame and the convertable top.

Before I got the HT, I used to use vinyl tubing (think fishtank) slipped over the hook part of the latch to tighten everything up.

I bought a new set of hardtop strikers from hardtop guy for like 50 bucks, and installed them in 15 mins. Instantly killed all soft top related wind noise.
