i got a ticket..
i got a ticket at CSUN, cal state northridge tonight.. at around 10 pm. i was coming out of one of the parking lots after my brother's recital..
i made a left turn out of the parking lot onto one of the road on the campus. then waited for the signal light to turn left onto the main road in front of the campus. then i got stopped by the cop
it turns out he gave me a ticket for making that left turn out of the parking lot where it said NO left and i was only to make a right turn... now.. it was 10pm.. nobody around, almost pitch dark.. and i made the turn onto a street in the school.. not even onto a public road..
well anyway, "technically" i did violate the law.. but i think the cop just wanted to be an a**..
i heard about the ticketassassin stuff.. what do i exactly have to do to fight the ticket?
thnx

Just pay the ticket.

I've had a cop that was just doing his job and wrote me a ticket, all while being polite and respectful to me, even friendly. However, I've had cops pull me over and proceed to yell at me and belittle me for an otherwise minor infraction only to NOT give me a ticket. In the latter case my thought is that the cop needs to get off his high horse and JUST TO HIS JOB.
I'd say just pay the ticket and be done with it.

A ticket for an illegal left turn? Must've been a slow night. Either way, what is it like $50 maybe if that? Pay it off. If you are afraid of points, goto court and hope he doesn't show up for something so petty.

I dont even think a ticket like that would give you points anyway.
To my knowledge, the ticketassassin technique only really works for speeding. It relies on being able to keep a lot of the "proof" inadmissable in court (bad calibration of radar, etc). It would not work for something like this.
I would assume it is a state school, so the roads within the campus are considered public roads and the cop was well within his juristiction.
Normally I would fight any ticket, since it's always worth trying even if it is just for a reduction. In this particular case, if you choose to try and fight it, I would write a letter to the judge and play dumb saying you didnt see the sign and hope he reduces it.
The problem is if it was a guided turn and you went around a barrier or anything in order to go the wrong way, you should just pay it and let it go. You know you were wrong "technically" anyway

Cops usually do show to court as they don't do crap that day and get paid extra just for going there. Don't be the house on him not showing.
Find out if there will be points assessed. It's possible that hiring a lawyer may cost you more than the $50 the ticket will cost you.
That being said, I've sent all my tickets to lawyers with good results. In the worst case, I've had to pay a fine along with the $70 or so fee for the lawyer but guaranteed no points and I surely did not have to waste my time going to court or giving the cop the satisfaction of having me there.

I don't think ticket assassin will work in this case. your best bet is to hire a lawyer, but I don't think it's worth it for something like this.

Try ticket assassin first. Trial by declaration. If that doesnt work then do traffic school. I think it would be a waste of money to hire a lawyer for this, but its your money.
