I'm impressed with the responses I've received to my post expressing my concerns about the Honda image and the "enthusiast" who are attracted to it. I will certainly check out the Vintage section on this site, even though I am only 33.
I am of the opinion that the S2000, equipped with proper tires, would be suitable for daily use year round. My college days were spent behind the wheel of an unsophisticated 5.0 liter Mustang GT. I managed that in all weather, so I think an S2000, in the right hands, will not be a problem.
It's good to know that the engineering marvels of the S2000 is not totally wasted on those who simply like coffee can exhaust tips and a sleek profile.

Honda 224 GTS, if you're an attorney why haven't you heard of the 14th amendment, which governs equal protection? If a similarly situated class of persons, motorist with tinted glass, are being treated differently because of the make of car they bought, that's an equal protection violation.

You're wrong. You're not a protected class because you drive a car with tinted windows. Being Black. Being Gay. Being Handicapped. Those are protected classes. Being a Honda S2k driver doesn't make you anything other than a .... well, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

I'm not wrong. The law says that similarly situated persons must be treated in the same manner. This logic has been used to argue against the regulation of trains in Wisconsin because they were being singled out for additional regulations. The court allowed the additional regulations because of the "compelling state interest" in the public safety. This clearly isn't your area of law. I have two briefs full of cites on this issue.
And have you heard of the 4th amendment? There have been two challenges in FL that went to the supreme court there when people were stopped on this pretext and additional charges resulted from the illegal stop. The court allowed these stops, but they don't necessarilly have the last word. Other States have ruled differently. Oklahoma declared tinting to be a privacy right. The federal courts can be sought out for remedy.
I'm not suggesting that he go to federal court. If his whole windshield isn't tinted, he can have the ticket dismissed. But nothing will change the fact that his rights were violated if this stop was unjustified.

Seriously, I wish... I had protested a ticket (here in Mi.), and the judge would not let me off the hook because "my driving record was horrendous!" ...!!??
...mind you, at that time... I had 3 tickest OVER 5 YEARS!!!! and TWO of them... WE'RE FIX IT TICKETS FOR NOT REPAIRING A WINDSHIELD CRACK ON TIME!!!. I tried to explain to the judge that I was "in College" at the time and couldn't afford a $250 windshield... and he said that was "no excuse, it is your personally safety that we are safeguarding!"...
...so I had to plead with the cop (who was also there to state his case) to write me a ticket for "obstructing traffic". After about 10 mins of whining, he gave in... changed the ticket, and gave it back to the judge.
What a bunch of $hit!
