this is great. i'm so sick of my stock 240sx getting 20 mpg around town. i'm sure i can get 25+ on all highways but since my car's pretty much used for a lot of local it sucks down the mpg. well another reason that adds to the countless # of reasons why i should get a s2k. sigh...

i don't keep spreadsheets of gas mileage. i do the quick math in my head every time i fill up because a significant drop in gas mileage can indicate problems elsewhere. that's the only reason. i don't pinch pennies and put in 87 octane, etc.

so, way to be presumptuous.
I do the same for the same reasons. Also why not have an idea of fuel economy? Some of you guys make it seem like you're not a true S2000 owner if you're aware of your MPG.

29 mpg over 95% highway driving for 380 miles each way. the last time i did the same exact trip, i got maybe 25 mpg, which is right around EPA estimates. however, i've always beaten those estimates in hondas (32 mpg in my RSX, 35 mpg in my TSX) so i was wondering if i could in my S2000.

it was weird seeing 350 miles on my trip odometer. in my normal commute, i get about 24 mpg and usually pump 11 gallons in at around 260-270 miles.

awesome. i'm not really THAT concerned about gas mileage, i.e. i don't drive the car like a grandma just to save a couple bucks on gas, but being able to go 320-350 miles on one tank is nice for the plain sake of convenience. in my TSX, i could go about 500 miles in all highway driving. that's NICE.
I got about 30mpg last year, and that was with the top down much of the time. My DD is a 4.0l Cherokee. The mileage is such that I am often tempted to see if there is actually a hole in the gas tank. We are driving to Idaho in a few months and have decided to take the S. I never thought the my S would feel economical but compared to the Jeep, it's a Prius.

I average somewhere around 28-30mpg on the highway. There is the occasional 25mpg tank though. I check mine every few months or so.

Why would you buy a sports, high performance, car and worry about MPG? I never understood this.

I've had my S 3338 miles so far and my average MPG is 23.4 with a best of 26.8 and a worst of 19.9. My car is SC so I would assume these numbers are where they should be for my driving. Lots of round town miles as this is my DD.

Who's worrying? Monitoring and worrying are different aren't they?
