I agree -- don't be upset by some of the slightly harsh tones of the comments.

But don't miss the important point being made -- if you're not sure why you want an S2000, then you need to test drive one some more and think about it. These cars are not for everyone, and we owners wouldn't have it any other way. There are lots of intelligent and reasonable people who wouldn't have this car on a plate!

hpalmer --

I agree that dealers play a role -- but so does the Corporation when the dealers aren't doing their jobs! I went round and round with MULTIPLE dealers and with AoA -- it was the biggest clusterf%uck I have ever dealt with -- including VW!!!

So again, my opinion (I am entitled to that!) stands -- Audi's and AoA sucks!

And twinturboS comes onto S2000online knocking the performance of a car that many of us love -- yet he says he is getting one -- whatever...

different strokes for different folks.

twinturbos, if i may be so bold as to offer a humble suggestion. this board has many like me that take great pride and satisfaction in their automobile. starting off on this board by sticking your finger in their eye is not the way to get a warm reception.

make observations, hell even make comments. but you must have known when you posted that your statements were going to ruffle feathers. what's the point?

if you truly prefer the "torquey" nature of the S4, then I am not sure that the S2000 is the car for you. it was not designed as a drag racer. it genius can be found in the way that it handles, brakes, and accelerates when already on the road and going.

the s4 is a cool ride (i especially like the avant) but by audi's own literature it is a sports sedan not a sports car. comparing it to the s2000 is like comparing a harley fat boy to a suzuki hayabusa. two awesome motorcycles but each with a different mission in life. they both can carry two folks and have huge engines, but you can't really compare the two.

just my 2 cents.

twinturboS, Don't do anything you may regret. If you are not sure, don't get it. If you want an answer, ask questions without downgrading what people love. I'd appreciate it if you understand this.

cheers,

0-60 does not make a fast car... it's just one aspect of speed. You can take a turn fast, you can slow down fast, you can die fast from poor driving... who cares?

If I wanted a car just for 0-60, I wouldn't ahve bought the S2K....

anyways...
