i have not recieved my s2000 yet but, i don't understand how you people say this car is "fast", "quick", etc. without launching a car you say it can't do 0-60 in under 6 seconds? that is very slow by todays standards in sports cars. my audi will do 0-60 in under 6 seconds from rolling out of 1st gear everytime! and as for the whole vtec thing...6000 and up is all the power, great! every car is fast when its in its power band!!!

Yeah, the S is slow. Barely gets out of the way of real fast cars like your Audi Please don't feed the trolls:

You drive a torquey car in the S4. Don't expect anything close to your Audi with the S2000. It's a totally different driving experience and if you haven't test driven one, go and do it before you decide to listen to all of us tell you it's a different ride.

Get it?

"Every car is fast when it's in the power band?"

What? So the automatic Civic DX is fast when it's in its powerband?

Actually the S4 rolling start 5-60 is over 6 seconds. Most cars rolling starts 5-60 are lower than 0-60. This is because they dump the clutch at high RPM. (Probably 4500 for the S4, higher 6-8k for the S2000). The 911TT looses over 1 full second when comparing the 0-60 times versus the 5-60 times.

The S2000 is a very fast car, it just requires more skill. On a track it will be competative with an M Roadster or Boxster S (probably beating both but by a hair). All of which will be faster than the S4.

The S2000 is not the car to pick if somebody is most interested in stop light racing. Get a Saleen Mustang or a Vette. However, if you love driving for the experience, the handling, the skill of proper gear choice at the proper time, and a car with a personality the size of a billboard the S2000 is the way to go.

Cool. Damn I can't wait to get home and run my girl's saturn through it's power band...sub 6.0 0-60 in a saturn here I come!

Dude even in my 2000 Trans/AM WS.6 I had to launch it at 3500 to get good 0-60 times...only difference is that it redlines at 6K...

Dude please don't get an S2K...it would just be waisted!

If you don't understand it, then the S2000 is not for you.

And I am sure that you S4 has been trouble free! I sold my 00 1.8T -- backed out of delivery of a 01 S4 Avant upon arrival -- because Audi's suck and so does their customer service. I have never had a bigger POS than the Audi -- will never buy one again! Obviously my opinion...

Since you are so unhappy with the performance of the S2000 -- I have an idea:

Don't get one, blow one or both of the turbos in your S4 and go back to hanging out at AudiWorld!

I own a 99 A4 1.8T and I've had no problems. It has been a great car and service has been excellent. Dealers play such a big role with service that you have to watch out.

The S2000 is unique and has more of a track car personality than street car. For this reason it is not for most people. Spend some time driving it to make sure that it fits with your driving style.

Don't worry about the negative comments, people here just really love this car and tend to be a little sensitive.
