i dont know whats it called, but can it help ?
say you are rolling at 15 mph , the moment you step fully on the gas pedal ,you then fully (and quickly) step on the cluch pedal at the same time(the RPMs go up since u r pressing the clutch) , you release the cluch pedal and WHAM you feel like somthing hit you from the back!
alot of people i know, do this when they are racing from a roll and say it helps gain a distance. i find it hard to belive , iv done it a few times(not in a race) but i dont know if it does make a diffrence in a race or not.
so my quetion is does it help in a race and will it smoke the clutch or harm other things?
thanx! i hope u understand what i mean as i dont know the meaning of this 'move'

I've seen the Japanese drivers in the Option and Best Motoring videos do this maneuver as well. I think for high revving motors that lack torque in the lower RPM's, this would make it quicker to reach the powerband than just gassing it in gear. I'm also sure that it is harder on your clutch and drivetrain, though I couldn't tell you how bad it is.

Well, there may be some fancy name for it, but it's basically a clutch drop. Rolling or not. Sure you will get to the powerband faster, but you will definatly hurt the clutch and diff as stated above. If you really need that much "off the line" acceleration, get a Rustang. Otherwise, catch'em in the twisties!
