Listen people, the S2000 is not a drag car. It's not a quarter mile car, although one magazine had a '03 doing the quarter in 5.3 seconds at 100.5 MPH. If you want to drag from the dime, get a car that has a lot of torque and has high HP. The S2000 is a great all around performance car that does everything well. Buy according to what you want the car for. I've had muscle cars since the 60's and I can tell you that my S is the best all around performance car I ever owned.

Did you really just "let go" of the clutch, or did you engage the clutch rapidly?
How many miles and hard launches on the clutch?

save about $1500.00 to replace your clutch with oem parts. Let me nephew borrow my car two weeks ago and i get the dreaded call - Steve the car wont move). everything was gone clutch,PP, flywheel, through out bearing.. when the dealership was done the total was $1498.00

The clutch is a wear item and excluded from the warranty. Read the fine print.
