On a positive note, you got a $3000 ems included. K pro is one of the most expensive options and also one of the only that is a full stand alone that will use the obd2 and pass emissions. If the engine numbers check out, looks like you got yourself a hell of a good deal for a clean looking low mileage early s2k.

I just re-read your post. If you asked him whether it was previously modified and he did not disclose all these prior mods then that is a problem.

I'm with the OP, I don't think the seller was honest in answering the question about previous modifications. Here's what I found from the s2ki about the previous modifications that were supposed to be intake, catback and KPro. I don't think many would agree these were merely just "intake, catback and kpro"

The mods did not come with the car, just the kpro. The whole point of this thread is to seek advice and opinions on whether this car could be reliable in the long run and what to be in the lookout for.

honestly like 10 other people said, get a compression test and a leak down test, and since you seem to be a bit of hypochondriac, an oil analysis.
If you still have 230+ PSI across all 4 cylinders, 5-10% leakdown per cylinder, and little metal (from bearings and such) in your oil analysis your engine is effectively factory new

Most people don't want a car someone else has modified. When I bought mine I specifically looked for one that had not. The only mods mine had were a stereo and a set of AP2 wheels in addition to the AP1 wheels it came with from Honda. I get dude's frustration.
