This is really interesting to me as im considering HRE's myself its either that or another 3pc rim such as the BBS-LM or the SSR-GT3' s
Specialque, i really doubt they bend easily. They are forged after all! And heck, for about $1000 a rim for rears, they better not bend easily Yes they are mostly for "show" and not for racing applications, but thats exactely the purpose im going to use them for, Showing the car!
Also, from what many owners on here are saying, many rims on tirerack arent really "made" for the S2K. That is they dont have the proper offsets. The advantage going to a custom wheel such as HRE is well, you guessed it, you can have them made in the offset of your choice. So this in turn with a lowered suspension should eliminate or at the very least minimize rubbing effect. I would like to hear from other owners who have HRE's and hear thier take on this. They are gorgeous wheels and have you seen thier catalog or website? They offer a ton of options!

Ahhh yea, those are the RE-Mag I was talking about... I like but doesn't look like they will be available in S sizes. I understand they are made specifically for the E46 M3.

Like i said, id like to actually hear from owners who own HRE wheels. I think i will post a seperate thread on here. The BBS-LM's are really nice, but a pain in the butt to keep clean and take a longtime to clean and maintain! Also, ive heard that they to rub at times when the car is dropped. The Fikse's are nice but the HRE designs appeal to me better. I think HRE has come a long way and have become very popular amongst us sports-car owners. Theres even a few owners on here with 19"HRE's. I personally want to go with a 18". Like i said, HRE offers a ton of options for your wheels (design, style of center-cap,finishes,polishing etc etc) check out thier website. They cant be cheap wheels if so many Sports-car (and EXOTIC sports-car owners i might add) owners are going with them.

HRE.

The workmanship on HRE's are second to none, great customer service and a wide variety of wheels design. Many exotic and sport car/exotic are going with HRE or any other forged wheels company with some bling. I know that many people with S2000's or any other sport car want to save weight, because weight is your TRUE enemy in racing/competition. Many sport car owners still choose to go with a forged wheel with some bling. The car still maintains its sporty side, but with a more aggressive classy look to it. IMO in the time that I had my HRE's I enjoyed them to the fullest, people will see the car and be totally stunned. Wheels make a car, and in my next car I will have HRE's again.

I agree !
Wheels definately make the car, and HRE's are down-right beautiful
Chris C, are you getting another set of HRE's you say you "Had" 19" HRE's. Just wondering. Also ive spoken to Howard of HRE before, sounds like a guy committed to customer satisfaction And i could care less about weight really. Im not going to race the car! if i could i would buy another S2K to race

I can attest to the beauty of Chris' long since departed HRE's, finished in suzuka
blue. For someone like me who is all about the 12-13-lb wheels, those were
hotter than pancakes smothered in Vermont maple syrup, not that corn starch crap.
