HP of the AP2 S2000?
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums. I've been looking to purchase a proper sports car in the next month and the S2000 fits that description. However, i've been debating on whether to get an AP1 or an AP2 S2000. I've been doing my research between the two and I came across this page.

Is it true that the ap2's engine is underrated? Please don't flame me for this post, just trying to get some clarification. Also, if it is true, is the power difference noticable?
Thanks for your help guys!

BTW, I think their Dynopack Dyno or the guy doing the calibration was being a little generous. A stock AP1 would probably register 210-220 WHP using their setup and calibration. Neither the AP1 nor AP2 produces more power at the wheels than at the crank.

I was a bit confused reading that article because it said that the s2000 was making around 240whp. But after reading your posts it's all clear now haha. Thanks for your help!

But it is pretty consistent. Comparisons made between different cars- on that dyno- are pretty useful.
But comparisons with that dyno and others, ehhh, not so much. But then, that's pretty much the story of all dynos, isn't it?

Shawn Church's freely admits that his dyno is a bit, ummmm, generous.

^Right on the money. It's the relative change on your car that you should look at instead of "internet tuning". Even with dyno corrections HP #'s are consistently low in my weather compared to cooler climates so comparisons are problematic.
