I have an aftermarket alarm and the remote has 4 buttons on it. My friend that installed it hooked up the remote so that one of the buttons unlocks the passenger door, and only the passenger door. That's how I usually unlock the door, even with the engine running.

The situation was I was driving and passed a friend (GUY) of mine who was on his way home from work. I pulled in the driveway behind him and he said he wonted to go for a ride in my new S2000. Me sitting in the car with top down and engine running, keys in ignition. Not knowing ahead of time I would be picking up a passenger so door was locked. He said will you unlock the door so I can get in. Sure thing, I locked and unlocked my door, pushed remote door unlock over and over, held it in (keys in ignition with engine running) and nothing happened. Had to lean over to unlock his door manually and he said "that some fancy power door locks you have". And I must agree, there should be a way to unlock the passenger door by just pushing a button like ever other car I have owned. Just a small rant but plane as day to me.

Well with that explanation, no your not missing anything. Reach over and unlock it. or, turn the car off, pull the keys out, hit the button, and restart the car. Your friend is right, We got some pretty sophisticated stuff here

I usually just lean over. Or press unlock twice on my remote if I'm feel gentleman like. If she's lucky I'll even open the door. That's rare, but she's well trained now.

S2K Fan you say you can do this "Or press unlock twice on my remote if I'm feel gentleman like." Your remote will open the passenger door with key in the ignition? Are you sure?
