I have a thought: everyone here has read about various clutch, transmission, and other problems (there seem to be lots of people that are complaining about these things). But I think not all StooKs are so problematic (I have not noticed any problems in mine). Is it possible that the earlier production cars are more troubled, and Honda resolved those problems for the later cars? Perhaps it would help if everyone who has complaints would list their serial number so a pattern MIGHT be detected. Just a thought, thanks!

(I'm somewhere in the 7000 range, I'll double check and include in my sig)

No grind problem but a loud clutch which seems to be more of a nuisance to some than a mechanical problem.

Replaced rear window and now protect with Muz mat and miata tube.

Also, have periodic problems with reverse lock-out. Other than that, it's still sheer joy to drive!!!!!

CG- you're at a low number (assuming year 00). Did you mean you have some problems or are all clear?

I'm curious if we eventually see a "cutoff" number in the complaint department. I guess it'll also be alot clearer once more '01's join in the group! The underlying reason for starting this thread is that I don't drive it hard everyday, autocrossed once last year (intend to do regularly next), and pamper it other times. I'd like to know what to watch out for before the warrantee expires!

thanks.

No grind in 9500 miles, though just a hint of clutch noise

Stereo died at 8000 miles, replaced under warranty (TSB 057)

I have a 00 stook serial #1702 with 20K and so far no problems. The car is inherently noisy but nothing out of the ordinary---yet. [QUOTE]Originally posted by vmb:
