Default How to tape up front end for 1250 mile road trip.

I am moving from Ohio down to San Antonio, TX. I'm driving the S with the passenger and trunk filled along with a follow behind minivan with everything else. What is the best way to protect the front end of my car during this trek?
I don't want to buy a bra for the car so I guess tape may be the best bet. Any brand that will remove easily with minimal residue but thick enough to protect?

Thanks,
Doug

blue painter tape will work well, since you can remove it easily without that sticky residue that most tapes leave behind.

Yeah, painters tape. Just buy a big roll. Racers use this often to protect the paint while on the track. It should last through 1200 miles assuming you don't run into too much rain.

when i drive up to baton rouge (about an hour away), i usually mask a layer of saran wrap over my front end and mirrors. it may sound ghetto, but it works! it's not too noticeable since it's clear, but if i do end up getting bugs on the unmasked areas, bounce (antistatic cling) takes them right off. hope that helps.

Do you mean you wipe them off with a dryer sheet or is this bounce a spray product?

Several coats of wax on the front end will allow you to wash all the bugs right off if you don't want it to look too silly during the drive, but will not protect against rock chips.
