How to Sell an S2000 on Ebay
Any advice on selling a car (an S2000) on Ebay. Is there a specific day I should have the auction end? What about reserves? Any tips or tricks, or for that matter scams, etc. I should watch out for? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
If this is the wrong forum for this, I apologize and trust it will be suitably corrected.

I would not sell my S on ebay, best to do it on Autotrader/Cars.com.
Research what other S2000s are selling for on the sites above and price a few hundred $ below to sell quick.

On eBay, just make sure you have all the stuff written down. Like how you plan to receive the payments. How the car will get shipped, and the shipping cost. Who's gonna pay for shipping, etc etc etc. Just like any other eBay auction that you would put up.
Also ask for payments in bank draft or money order only. You don't want a bounced check and find out after your car's shipped.
But ya, if possible, try to sell it locally. Makes things a lot easier. No disputes about whether the car was as described.
Take LOTS of pictures with high resolution camera -- at least 3 megapixel. And make sure you take the pics under well lit areas. Buyers will appreciate a lot more if you have good pics. also dig up your service history from your mechanic. Be honest about where dents and dings are. Then you'll be fine.
But if you are lazy, you could always just drive the car into a Honda dealer or a second hand dealer to get rid of it. Much less hassle ...
Another option is to sell on the For Sale forum in S2Ki. No commissions and it's a place that people look for S2000s ...

I was not aware there's a For Sale forum here. I'll look. As for Autotraders, I got 3 calls, one from a reseller, one from someone who'd charge me only $400 to put it on Ebay, and one legitimate shopper who really wanted a Miata. On Bargainnews, which does well in the NYC Metro area, I got one email from a reseller. I listed a 2004 Suzuka S2000, no mods, nearly perfect condition, 35K miles for 19,500. That seemed like a more than reasonable asking price. Am I nuts?

I bought mine on E-bay. I talked to the guy a bunch of times and told him that if he was telling the truth the money would have been well spent, but if he was lying I would ****ing kill him. I only sent him my deposit online and gave the rest in person.
I guess allow yourself to be available to communicate with, that really helped with me.

$19,500? Seems a little high but OK. I bought mine in Chicago (Also an '04, yellow) in late November last year with 45,000 miles for the same money.
So, a year ago at a (Saab) dealership, with 10,000 more miles and a hard top for the same money. On the other hand, it was a snowy day in November.
The same car would have been impossible to find at that price in April of last year, and I stopped looking at S2000 prices once I had one.
If it were me, I'd give it another month and then quit trying until spring.
