Default How safe is my car?

I now work at the mall. And I wonder because i took out the stock computer. I had a couple of young guys by my car tonight. Yesterday someguy left a note on my car saying. Bad ass ride! i have alot of electronics they can steal easily like. Motec air fuel $1,275.00,, AEM computer $1,400.00,, Greddy gauges $360.00,, Boost controller $350.00,, turbo timer $90.00 and radio. Do you guys recomend any good alarms for my car..

Alarms are kinda pointless if you ask me. If they want it, they will get it. Especially when we are talking about electronics. The best thing is to not show it off to anyone and try to hide them when being parked (i.e. take face plate off with you to work). Also, posting on the internet with all your electronic mods isn't the best thing to do (gives potential thiefs something to look for such as the ems). If possible, try to get your insurance to cover those high-dollar items you have on your car. Just some advice.

get the car cover. it's gray and makes the car virtually invisible to theives in a mall parking lot. your car attracts way too much attention from potential joyriders. I used to have bodykitted civic that was broken into twice, both times in a good neighbor hood, once in front of a police station! i've used the cover since then on my s2000 in public mall parking lots. No one pays any attention to the car.

I don't show it off. But it is kind of loud, it even sets off other car alarms. The car roars the parking lot even at low rpms, 3 inch exhaust no cat.. it is turbo. I am not sure about the car cover. wont that attract more attention?. Any other opinions?

id say your only defense agaisnt theifs would be to buy a cheap daily driver just for work and other times when your S will be siting in a parking lot unattended (excpet for mall security ) for hours...I cant stand when i have to park my S in parkin lot for hours...

Driving a car like that to work is no differen't than holding up a sign that says "FREE, TAKE ME" If you can afford to put $84,000 into a car, you can afford a mere $2,000 for a 1990 CRX. Seriously, your S2000 should be locked inside of a garage. There is plenty of time to drive your S other than to work just to let it sit in the hot Tampa Sun in some mall parking lot.
