Yeah, paint it with Duplicolor wheel paint. Post pictures in a month or so.

those will not last so long with just paint, since you really do rub aganist it everyday.

just to let you konw, you can sand down the outside layer to get the knob the unburnt finish. I did it with my oem titanium knob before so i konw it will work.

the fact that you are getting rainbow colour is because the temp. was not high enough, the blue bottle torch is lower temp. than the map gas(yellow) which rated some where around 500 degree.

jsut to let you know your option, imho titanium finish is sexy as it, painting it over is a waste.

Has anyone tried this:

Looks like a great way to get the blue finish without an acetilyne torch.

That is really cool.

Put a logo on your shifter, whatever you want. I like.

does anybody have pics of a torched oem knob? I've tried looking but came up with nothing.

geoff, do you have pics of your knob as well. I'm curious to see what it looks like.

instead of sanding your can use mother's all metal polish to get the color off. I re-torched mine 2 times already since i didn't get enough color the first time i torched it.

hmm thanks for the info.

and i do not have pics of the knob torched. best way i can describe its look was like a light dirty bronze, with some rainbow around it.
