how to paint titanium

how to paint titanium
any type of paint i should use to paint TI? i was thinking of just getting wheel paint. illl be painting my shift knob because i decide to listen to other people and just torch my shift knob. it turned into a rainbow instead of blue. so i want to paint it.

those will not last so long with just paint, since you really do rub aganist it everyday.
just to let you konw, you can sand down the outside layer to get the knob the unburnt finish. I did it with my oem titanium knob before so i konw it will work.
the fact that you are getting rainbow colour is because the temp. was not high enough, the blue bottle torch is lower temp. than the map gas(yellow) which rated some where around 500 degree.
jsut to let you know your option, imho titanium finish is sexy as it, painting it over is a waste.

Put a logo on your shifter, whatever you want. I like.

instead of sanding your can use mother's all metal polish to get the color off. I re-torched mine 2 times already since i didn't get enough color the first time i torched it.
and i do not have pics of the knob torched. best way i can describe its look was like a light dirty bronze, with some rainbow around it.
