How often do you heel/toe? A poll
#1
I have all kinds of problems turning my heels - my knee get in the way, my work shoes (Ecco) are too wide to allow for it, and I'm still practicing bliping the throttle while downshifting.
I'm curious to see how many of us (percentage wise) heel/toe.

You may be trying too hard to actually use your heel and your toe. Try just using the edges of your feet, that is how I do it, and I think that my feet are on the narrow side. To do this though, you have to be comfortable with braking with only about 1/2" of the sole of the shoe on the brake pedal. I feel the the S2K is the first car that I'm comfortable even under hard braking with just the edge of the sole. Other cars, I'd have to slide the shoe over more under heavy braking.

I had to do it in the old trucks. Thought that was how you drove standard. So suprise to me when I learned I was doing something right. Lately I've been practicing cluthless shifting in my beater to get the rev matching down better.

This is an excellent thread about this very topic...excellent not because I started it, but people like Nick and Jason threw in their input, as well...
