2. he jus got the car and spun out on the on ramp(going way too fast) and hit the wall
The only time ive ever spun out was on an on-ramp in the rain but i was going a little too fast..luckily there was no wall and only grass around. i agree that the S is safe, but any rear wheel drive car can spin out. you would be much worse off in a mustang that has more torque and rides like a bus

Only once did I go sideways in my car. That was at Beaver Run. I mistakenly hit the rev limiter on turn 7 and my rear end came around.

On group drives such as the Dragon I push the car hard an am amazed at what it can take before it lets go.

seriously though most of the crashes that happen are the drivers fault...people thinkin they know how to drive so they push the car more and more...trust me unless you goto driving school you don't know shit about driving...and if you think you do...goto driving school and you'll learn...YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT DRIVING....
So true, so true.

I remember going to my first track day / autox. I thought I knew how to handle the car (I was driving it for about 1.5 years without any mishap) but man was it a smack in the face when I started driving around. I realized I knew shit about driving.

I'm very fortunate to say I was put in my place a while back at that track day. Since then I've attended about 5 or so more autox's and I now feel much more comfortable in the car and driving it hard on a COURSE. NEVER will I really push the car on the street; I've learned out of no where it'll bite you and thats that, done.

The only time I have ever been concerned with safety driving my car is when the tires are worn and it is wet outside. It is worse if it is cold and wet.

I agree with everyone here. Don't be a moron and maintain your tires properly. Browse the forums and educate yourself on tires if you need to. I had to do it and it has been worth the time.

This is not a car to be afraid of. Those usually come with a TVR badge.

If a factory spec car coming out of a corner (or even on straight-away's according to some of the stories I have read here) is more likely to throw the backend (than other models) there is a design issue. VSA is the one manner of correcting the issue, and the path selected by Honda.
I would disagree, unless every decently powered RWD car with limited traction (that's when the straightaway spins occur in a stock/near stock car) has this same design problem.

Hell I've spun out in Toyota Cressida's before from driving like an idiot. Now granted, I have an AP2 (yes, with VSA, but it's off when I'm doing track events, autocross, etc.. or just having fun in the rain on private property..) but the S2000 is not the most tail happy RWD car I've ever owned/driven.. far from it actually. After reading all of these stories I was slightly worried (I don't beat on cars during test drives so would never get anywhere near my limits then) but after driving it on track I almost felt let down and it's lack of bad behavior... however during that same track day another 06 spun on the first lap and broke the radiator jumping a median between turn 1 and pit out at CMP. Cold tires + full throttle + sharp turn + someone who reportedly had little RWD experience (but was an instructor, all FWD and AWD experience IIRC) = a spin.

Anyways, as some others have said, it's a RWD car, you have to have some experience not to spin it, wreck it, etc. On the street you should never be near the limits, but things can happen to put the car into a spin anyways, driver mistake, environmental problems (hydroplaning, etc) but you can limit your problems by driving in a safe and responsible manner.

I feel like you should be asking 2 seperate questions.

How often does the back end get loose? Every once in a while.

How often do I lose control of it? Haven't yet.

Just don't drive like a jackass. I drove my friend's 03 and it felt very stable and safe, but I was just driving it like my four door civic.
