How often do you guys change oil?

yes, the oil minder is my friend, but i usually change it when it gets to 20%.

i thought 15% was when you were supposed to do it

actually, your supposed to do it at 0%. 0% indicates that there is 0 life left in the oil, which of course depends on what type of oil you are using, but gives a general estimation.

The 06-07 oil status is nice, but I hate that the rest of the maintenance schedule is tied to it. I wish they had put an actual schedule in the 06 manual, instead of just a list of A/B and 1-6 codes and "follow the maintenance minder".

BTW -- manual says to change out when the minder reads 5%, which means oil is between 1% and 5%. YMMV.

yeah, this is true. i've only changed my oil once, when i hit 3900 miles, and when i reset the oil minder, it throws off the whole cycle.

i change mine between 4-5000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic (usually closer to 5000), theyre good til 7000 miles i believe, and i drive about 1500-2000 miles a month

Here's a slightly off subject question from a noobie.

How do you lift the S to get under it at home for the oil change?

ramps? jacks?

Invest in a nice jack and stands. Don't use the OEM one when changing oil.
