How much would an 02 s2000 with 500 original miles on it go for?

A man can't simply walk in here asking such a question! Where is this car?

Not as much as you'd think. Having a car sit and not run isn't a good idea for longevity of the car. I'd pay more for one with 10k to 15k than a whopping 500 miles. This happens with the exotics a lot.
Exactly my thoughts on this subject.
In 1991 I was looking at a zero miles 1986 Bertone X1/9 in the local dealer's showroom. I ended up buying a 1987 with 19k miles on it that was in better shape. All the rubber and plastics were drying and cracking on the "new" '86.

I agree. Mechanically, age has just as much of an effect on a car as mileage when it's sitting and not being run. A running car is a longer lasting car. A car sitting like that for so many years, there could be a number of things that can go wrong as one starts driving it.

Plus, this post is useless without proof and pics.

The car exists. Backstory: I know a car broker i'm working with and he asked me about the value of this car because a dealer is trying to buy it from one of his clients. He is trying to find out the value of the car.

It's difficult to give an exact value but several people have highlighted the problem with a car that isn't driven. In my opinion if the owner sees over $18,000 they would be lucky. Such a car likely wouldn't surpass sticker for another 20+ years.

I think you could find a buyer at $20,000.

2002 is a pretty good year, 9k engine, glass soft top window, and other updates from 00. Black on black is a good combination for the AP1, especially if the buyer doesn't plan on driving it much.

Change the fluids, battery, maybe some fresh tires. I wouldn't worry about low miles damaging anything. Driving a car for 30-50,000 miles is gonna do a lot more damage to the paint, seats, clutch, windshield, soft top, brakes etc.

There are currently eight 2002 cars on autotrader for between $18,000-$20,000. And they don't have only 500 miles. You might be able to get more than $20,000.

This thread angers me purely because for 20,000$ AUD, and our dollar is worth substantially more than the USD now, you could get a 1999-2000 S2000 with 120,000kms on it. There's one S2000 for sale here for 88,888$ (stock and new) Damn you Americans!

^^^^^^

That is a lot of money. There are clearly lots fewer S2000s in Australia.

BTW, Love your avatar. Spike is only my second favorite character from Cowboy Bebop, though.

I have seen 2003 models with 16-20k on the odometer KBB for around $18.7k. I haven't checked, but a car with 500 miles on it should go for considerably more, assuming it is in good mechanical condition. I would guess at least low $20k-range.
