Get a stroker kit, add a turbo, and run bald tires in the back. You'll be ready to drift in the S.

4.77 gears will give you gobs of torque and give you a much more usable powerband. Definitely look into them as they transform your car into something completely new all for just over a grand. www.hardtopguy.com

Highly recommended

What kind of hp numbers for the gears and stroke kit? Then with a turbo?

Gears don't give you horsepower. They'll give you about 15% more torque and acceleration increase. You'll keep up with supercharged cars up through 3rd gear or so.

The stroke kit will give an hp increase and so will the turbo, so I'm just asking for some realistic approximations of hp and tq specs after gears, a 2.5 stroker kit and an appropriately sized turbo (still no one who can help me with the VGT?).

Yes a variable geometry turbo will give you a wider powerband without sacrificing the top end gains since it works just like a larger turbo except that it spools up quickly. As far as hp and tq specs it all depends on what you want, you can go as high as you want. If you're looking to drift then it depends on how well you can drift now. If you're just starting I would suggest tuning the engine to around 300hp. Not sure exactly what the torque increase will be.

Also you may want to check out the aem drift s2000, they suggest going with the 2.2lt engine of course as a starting point to get more torque.

parts of InlinePro's website are under construction, but the stroker kit alone produces ~260whp if i'm not mistaken. i'm not sure of the tq but it's well over 200 at the wheels. plus, this engine actually responds to bolt-ons, so more power can be unlocked. if you want to widen your powerband, this is the way to do it. as far as the turbo goes, no one has force induced this block yet, but I heard that Inline doesn't reccomend it (probably compression concerns). with 4.77's and the stroker you'll be able to drift quite nicely...before vtec.
