One of my friends recently wrapped his car around a telephone pole avoiding an 8 year old suddenly comming out of a driveway into the road without looking. He avoided the child, but wasn't able to correct the car fast enough. Had both hands been on the wheel, the car probably would still be in his driveway.

I'm not saying you should have both hands on the wheel at ALL times, but when taking turns hard enough to need to hold on, both hands should be on the wheel.

Support yourself against the dead pedal and keep your hands on the wheel.
I find that the dead pedal is great to make right turns, it gives you support, but making left turns, there is no dead pedal for support and since my right hand naturally is holding the shifter, I guess I was thinking if anyone used it as a support once in gear. Seems though, the general consensus is no. The advice about putting the shifter into gear before turning and then using both hands for steering and using the steering wheel as support by pushing on it is a great idea, I will work that into my driving habits. Also, I find that body leans help too.

Oh good, I thought you were going to suggest hitting the 8 year old kid!

If you're not tight to the seat, you'll have problems staying in it. Your seat back is probably too far reclined for this type of driving.

Both hands on wheel when in turns, blah blah.. like everyone stated above.

Or just get some aftermaket seats to keep in in the seat.

I'm a short guy(5'5 about135lbs) The oem seats made me kinda slide around on turns, then upgraded to some brides seats now im perfectly snug.

Get a Modifry Seatbelt Locking gizmo or a G-lock to hold you in the seat, and keep your hands on the wheel.

Sorry, but this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard asked on the whole inter-web...
