Wow, insurance in the USA is cheap! I pay:
Aviva

$500 deductable
collision, liability, fire/theft/vandalism
23 years old
$2800/year (of course I can only drive 6 months of the year)
Insurance regulations came into effect here in Alberta in 2004 because premiums were getting out of control and insurance companies were making record profits year after year. In 2003, when I was 16, I tried to insure a 1982 Chrysler sedan (huge boat!) and the premium for LIABILITY ONLY was $3500/year!!! With collision I would have been looking at over $5000. Hell, my '02 WRX is $4200/year for full coverage, so I've only got liability only on it, which is regulated to a ~$1300/year maximum.
