tier 5 - highest new vehicle rating as NJ dropped available tier 6 status - just means no accidents for a long time

39yrs old, own home. Allstate customer for years. They insure my house and the 4 vehicles listed below.
Pay $342.31 for my S2000 every 6 months. Works out to $ 57.21 per month or $ 684.00 a year.
Also, I get the following discounts (off the whole bill for 3 cars)
Multiple car worth -$101.00 every 6 months
Allstate Advantage -$ 26.70 every six months
Antilock brakes.- $ 2.00 every 6 months
I have a $ 500.00 Deductable and no Med Pay. I'm considering raising it to $1000.00 and keeping $ 1K on hand to take care of small fender benders, glass etc.
Sounds like a lot of the higher prices above are a result of taking what the agent gives you. Ask them to quote you different deductables, liability limits, comprehensive limits and if Med pay is necessary (it's not really if you already have health insurance). If married, list the policy in your wife's name if possible. Dont' listen to the agent when he says " It's only $ 50.00 for this and that. Think about it the possibility of paying for a few things yourself....if they happen. Remember insure your car and yourself for Catastrofic events not: towing, door ding repair, fender benders etc. Insurance companies do not like to be nickle and dimed so you'll pay big up front.
Some people on this thread have to get out and shop around!

25, going on 26 this year.
Currently engaged and the insurance for my car is $1800/ 6 months if we had the policy in my name here in Louisiana.
So my fiance and I put both our cars under her name and the policy is now $1900/ 6 months. She drives a new 2003 accord v6 and we have my 2002 s2k. Full coverage, $500 deduc. This is with Progressive.
Louisiana has the worst insurance rates for males and pretty much anyone with a shitty driving record. My record has been clean for 5+ yrs.
