How much do gears limit your top speed?
Im starting to mod my S again... but last time i stayed far far away from gears because i was worried about them dropping my top speed. What gears can you use without dropping it too much.... and what should i go with. (im sure there r 1000 posts about this, but search is borken) Thanks guys!
Also, on my last S i had a tein RA coilover setup, it was amazing... but im looking for something MORE amazing... and all that stiff ride, or rough ride crap really doesnt bother me (been racing too long to worry about that stuff) any info would be awesome thanks very much!

I'll respond to the gear question.
You have an AP2 - top speed geared to around 150 mph. This speed can actually be achieved because aerodynamic drag has not come into play to restrict the top speed. Honda did a great job at gearing your car. There will be NO gearset (ring and pinion) that you can buy where your top speed will not be reduced.
The very next gearset that you can buy that will give you an accelerative advantage is the 4.3:1 (more commonly available and used in Japan) and this will reduce your car's top speed to 144 mph. The most current popular gearset is Rick's 4.56 and your top speed will be reduced to 135 mph.
Of course, changine the gearing a "little" bit will only change your top speed a "little" bit AND it will also change your acceleration a "little" bit. You have to decide if this little bit is worth spending that kind of money to achieve.

On coil-over, pre-FC05, I was thinking of getting tein RS to replace current tein RA that I have right now. because you can play more and those reservoirs does look good. but while I was at FC05, I was talking to andrew and john oldt. john has track prepped s2000 with tein RA. since I was thinking of changing it to RS, I asked him if he considered RS. his response was RS is too complicated to adjust for his level. that got me thinking that it is so true. combination between reservoir and the other (I don't know what they call...), there are too many combinations and I rather stay simple. So, post-FC05, I didn't think to upgrade at all. I'll stay with RA and perhaps I'll recondition it.
another option might be tein flex with edfc. thought of adjusting your suspension without getting out of car is pretty cool. but some also said it's not a good damper as RA.
