I'd really like to see pictures of you and your S2000. And also you with your Supras. The same person in all 3 pictures with the respective cars would make me think that this is not idle banter.

The operative words are "you with your cars."

I can't speak for the original poster, but around here a test drive, if you can get one, lasts about ten minutes during which you are lucky if you can hit VTEC, let alone get the car into any twisties.

I'm still looking at the S2000 but have to admit that as much as I love the sound of the engine in VTEC I wasn't really impressed by any power boost - it just felt like the car pulled strongly from clutch engagement to red line - nothing more but nothing less. Perhaps this is because I'm used to driving a turbo and expect a distinct kick when the turbo kicks in and was expecting the same when the S2000 I was driving passed 6K RPM, but I didn't.

Don't get me wrong, it was fast and I loved the feel, but if I didn't "know" about VTEC I never would have noticed the difference between the pull below 6K and above 6K.

Once again, that's just me (I certainly didn't have any issue with the brakes, though.)

To be fair, I don't feel any great power pull in the Boxster or Boxster S, either compared to what my Audi TT feels like when the turbo kicks in, but then again if seat of the pants kick is what I was after I'd get a Z06 Corvette...
