You do know that those tire spikes in garages are directional? When the big sign says "SEVERE TIRE DAMAGE" you're not supposed to drive over them.

What did you hit to cause that kind of damage?

Some people take this whole "Weight saving" issue a little too far IMO at least. I'm not even sure that the spare weighs in as much as 30lbs. I'd put it at 7-10lbs max. Keep it in. Honda put it there for a reason.

Actually, the spare is in the middle of the car, between the axles. It does, however, slightly counter-balance the weight of the driver on the opposite side of the car

the spare tire weighs 24 lbs. if you can also get rid of other stuff ( not sure what else you can get rid of) in your car to make a total weight saving of 60-80 lbs, it might make a noticeable difference.

You can remove the tool kit in the well at the bottom of the trunk, swap out the heavy factory exhaust for a lightweight single outlet model, replace the stock intake system with an AEM CAI, install a Hawker battery; do all this in addition to removing the spare and you'll be close to 100 pounds in savings.

Or, you can just do this:
