I rarely drive above 80mph. The road/engine noise makes it seem like you're going faster than you actually are, so I end up going 70-75mph on the freeway usually if I don't pay attention.

Fastest I've been was 153 or so (indicated) and I'll admit that was stupid. Above 130, wind noise is extremely loud.

haha, I doubt you have ever gone 150. Sorry, but 150 in a s2k is downright idiodic (without a proper rear wing). Lift increases with respect to speed so a small bump will make you very unhappy sir.

Just putting my 2 cents out there.

Try going 100mph+ in a camaro, then going to a s2000 and going 100. the camaro feels more stable - it has better aerodynamics + its heavier so it has more dampening effects on bumps on the roads. Ive done 100+ in the s, I love the rush, but Im just saying its a scary experience - whcih is why its a rush.

the s2000 was definately not designed for high speeds, the NSX was. you can tell just by the design of the car - the s2k is made to LOOK good..the NSX is aerodynamic, the vette is aerodynamic. just look at the front fascia! its pretty obvious...s2000 = twisties unless youre going to put in $.
i dunno about that...140 in an an h swapped accord is doable, so the S feels like a dream in my opinion. I guess its all relative.

can do 105 on my favorite on-ramp, with a little bump at the end, no problem.

You must be in the wastelands of Litchfield county or over in the economic dead zone on the eastern side of the state near New London or up near the MA border. Or perhaps you have a night job that has you on the roads at 11PM and again at 4AM? Come down and experience Fairfield county for a week. You'll have a whole new appreciation for your open roads!

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Personally I don't get my self worth from the area of a state i drive through. Nor am i originally from New England.

BTW last night on the way home on 395 I was going 80 mph, just barely passing the car in the right lane, and this set of headlights comes up behind me doing at least 100 and rides my butt. I speed up to get out of his angry way, and yes indeed, it's another State Tax Collector, I mean State Trooper with no lights on burning his way through traffic.

Don't worry, you're a better person because you live in Fairfield county.

I usually open it up above 100 on occasion (coming back from the club, party or late night grub fests) but only if I'm solo and its after 2am

I once hit like 110-115ish in a 1994 saturn sl1 four-door

now THAT was scary :suprised:

motor blew shortly after that...wonder if that had something to do with it

lmao I cant believe for a good while i wanted to boost that thing

Anything over 40 mph scares the dickens out of me. This car is so twitchy and the aero is so bad I don't know how any one would feel safe going much faster.

I redlined all the way up to 120mph today, on the open highway of course. 137k miles on the odo and it VTECs no problem. I probably hit 100+ 2-3 times a week, never in traffic though.

Sorry your fragile self esteem was hurt but that was not my intent. All I was inferring is that while Litchfield County in northwest CT has a great deal of wealth it's still very rural. Summer estates and what not. It's just too far from the city for commuting. So those folks are spared the heavy traffic we suffer in Fairfield County.

As for your I395 escapades, just as I suspected you are in the economic dead zone of eastern CT. No offense intended but it's the truth. Manufacturing long ago fled that area of the state and with Electric Boat cutbacks and no proximity to either Boston or New York or even Providence for that matter, the eastern half of the state is left to rely on service industry jobs from the casinos and small businesses. But the casinos have cut back severely in the current economic climate. So, no jobs = fewer people commuting into and out of that area = less population density and less traffic. Just a simple fact of geography and economics. No offense intended.

In the Southwestern corner of CT, Fairfield County is a bedroom community for Stamford & New York. We have a higher population density because we have more (and higher paying) jobs because of our proximity to these cities. That means more people living here and more people commuting into and out of the area every day. Again, a simple fact of geography and economics, no value judgement was intended. The price we pay (one of them anyway) is traffic that absolutely sucks. My 35 mile commute from Trumbull to Stamford can take anywhere from 45 minutes (ideal conditions) to 2 hours (weather & accidents). The norm is 1:20.....for 35 miles. That's about 26 mph! It sucks. My opportunities to hit 80 mph may come once every couple of weeks and last less than a half mile or 30 seconds. C'est la Vie baby. Hence my love affair with less travelled back roads and small roadsters.

I noticed that you're driving an 01 S2K. Sorry, but older/used cars sort of fit the profile for the eastern half of the state too. Fact, not opinion.

I try to hit 100+ as often as possible. I've hit ~165 in the H3 tunnel here, and an indicated 167 several times in CA.
