Yea, this is obviously going to be a touchy subject for some. All depends on your willingness to take risks. I do however think there are responsible ways to speed. For instance:
6am on the way to Gingerman Raceway, completely open road, looking slightly down hill. I would say alone, however on this occasion I had my speed freak buddy with me. (So hitting the speed I did with him in the car was justifiable) Anyways Ill cut to the chase. 151 mph before getting too scared
. Car felt alright. The only car I have been in at that speed before was a Bentley Continental GT. Obviously, the S2000 didn't feel anything like that. I did however break 150 with a stock 04 with 70,000 miles on it and a 170lbs passenger. SWEET! 
However, usually... I never do more than 10 over the speed limit. I do accelerate to the speed limit very quickly though!
Just save yourself if you're going to talk any type of negative or degrading, misplaced, words of wisdom. I have a license. I have a car. And if I want to do 150 when I deem it safe... Then there is nothing you can do about it. Unless you are a COP! HAHAHAHA this was too fun.
The above story is of course entirely fictional *cough* who in their right mind would do that !?!?!

I pretty much never see 100 on the street. Not that I haven't...but never regularly. To me, going for a high speed wangan type run is kind of boring. Speed doesn't get me excited, turns do.
i get more excited on onramps/offramps than an open stretch of road.

A clean record and being apologetic to the cops saved my ass that day.When it was warm outside I would hit 100 about 2x a week, just merging onto the highway... if there's no traffic around, I open it up until I touch 100-105 and then coast back down to 80-85 for my drive. Now that the tires are cold I don't feel safe doing it in case an evasive maneuver is needed.
The exceptions are the poker rallies the Audi/BMW club invite us to where we hit 120+ for some stretches of the route. The fastest I've ever had the S is 131.

I'll blast an on-ramp every now and then, but my commute is at 5a.m. down the back roads. 'My car" has seen 150+ and it was as smooth as glass. I don't know what people mean by twitchy.

Once upon a time I lived in Glastonbury and commuted to New Britain using I91, Rt 9, and I84. No 100 mph traffic there that lived to tell about it. 55 - 65 was good speed on that route.
Then for a while I was shuttling between Glastonbury and Waterbury using I91, SR 691, and I84. No triple digit movers there either. I84 was a parking lot from SR691 all the way to Waterbury.
You must be in the wastelands of Litchfield county or over in the economic dead zone on the eastern side of the state near New London or up near the MA border. Or perhaps you have a night job that has you on the roads at 11PM and again at 4AM? Come down and experience Fairfield county for a week. You'll have a whole new appreciation for your open roads!

haha, I doubt you have ever gone 150. Sorry, but 150 in a s2k is downright idiodic (without a proper rear wing). Lift increases with respect to speed so a small bump will make you very unhappy sir.Just putting my 2 cents out there.
Try going 100mph+ in a camaro, then going to a s2000 and going 100. the camaro feels more stable - it has better aerodynamics + its heavier so it has more dampening effects on bumps on the roads. Ive done 100+ in the s, I love the rush, but Im just saying its a scary experience - whcih is why its a rush.
the s2000 was definately not designed for high speeds, the NSX was. you can tell just by the design of the car - the s2k is made to LOOK good..the NSX is aerodynamic, the vette is aerodynamic. just look at the front fascia! its pretty obvious...s2000 = twisties unless youre going to put in $.

I used to be a crazy speeder. Now I can't even recall the last time I went above 60mph, not even 55mph. Of course I just recently moved to Vancouver where it rains a lot, so I take it slowww. There is a lot worth living for.
