Default How many people have stalled or hydrolocked their cars due to a CAI?

There a bunch of threads recently about this issue. I am curious since I almost bought an AEM knockoff. What were the conditions and what type of CAI? I have seen threads about Injen and AEM so far ( 2 each). Also how many hydrolocked with a stock airbox?

That other thread where arnelr21 had a problem with a AEM intake he was going thru water so freaking deep his spoiler was submerged. I run a AEM and still don't have any concerns about hydrolocking my engine.

Hopefully red will agree with me on this one, but if not, please say so and I'll bow out. I think we would all apreciate posts ONLY by those who have had their engines hydrolocked while using a CAI (not necessarily just AEM, either). Also, the circumstances behind such a destruction should be included...weather conditions, road conditions, were you driving or just starting it up, etc. We can always post comments in another thread and link it here...

I live in San Francisco and it has been raining cats and dogs here these past few days. I used to have a AEM CAI and I replaced it with a Comptech because I was afraid it would suck up water. My car is lowered and the filter does not have much clearance from the ground. It only takes about 4-6 inch puddle to submerge the fliter.

I agree with MacGyver, hydrolocked or stalled CAI situations only. Lextacy can you provide details? I know a few other people have had these problems. Where are you?

I've seen 1 car at a local dealership's service department with a hydrolocked motor (engine damaged) and 1 car that stalled in deep water (no engine damage). They both had aftermarket CAI systems.
