How many miles did you get out of your S02's? I think it is time to change mine.

I hadn't drove my car in the rain in a long time. I thought I had enough tread in the rear, but apparently not. I was driving to work this morning and I could feel the rear hydroplaning a bit at speeds greater than 50mph. The highway was just barely covered with a thin sheet of water with a moderate amount of rainfall. So I just kept my speed to a minimum.

How many miles did you get out of your S02's? I have 13k with no autocrossing and I'm only a fairly aggressive driver. No tire burning launches or anything like that.

edit:

I checked the tires for thread depth during lunch.

LF RF
outside 6/32" 5/32"
middle 7/32" 7/32"
inside 6/32" 6/32"

LR RR
outside 4/32" 2/32"
middle 5/32" 4/32"
inside 2/32" 2/32"

On the rears I measured the middle at the deepest channel I could find in the pattern.

I got 15k for rears, and 30k out of fronts, tires were pretty worn by 15k, around 10k I had to start being a little more careful in the rain.

Rears: at 17K miles almost to the wear bars, but since I had extra set of Yoko's I just replaced them all last week. I dont drive in the rain so I could have gotton about another 2-4K miles from original tires. The fronts were in better shape.

Happy motoring

Almost died in the rain aat around 11K, had to change them out (rears). Changed the whole set at 25K, but could've squeezed another 2K out of the. Got a nail in the side wall which couldn't be fixed, decided to just swap them all.

I have 21500 on the original set. Rear is just about to touch the wear bar and the front insides are getting pretty low. I flipped all four tires recently to even out the wear.

This set has one track day and three auto-x's, and a bunch of club drives.

But, I will be getting a new tire set for the summer plus a sway bar to settle the rear down in auto-x.
