Default How many miles decent for new s2k?

Dealer has my car, all ready to go! However, it has 29 miles on it. Is this normal? Or has it been test driven?

I was really bent on ordering a car and getting one with single digit mileage, but the dealer had a customer that changed colors from red to black so I am getting a car that was in his lot. It's kinda nice to get the car a bit early but I don't want to pay for it later. What do you all think?

I had 8 miles on my car when i took delivery. But that was straight from Japan to my dealership. 29 miles doesn't seem to bad if they had to swap it from another dealership. I think most dealerships are still pretty anal about letting other people test drive new cars and if they do have people test driving them, i'm sure most of them already know enough about the s2000 to respect the owner to be of the break in period. I wouldn't be thrilled about the mileage but i wouldn't be too worried either.

29 doesn't sound too bad.
but i think it's your call if you want to trust that 29 miles or not ...

mine had 45 miles on it and the dealer said it had been on the lot 45 days. i know they were driving it. whatever. just try to get some options or more discount to compensate. i wouldn't worry too much. it's a strong engine.

Mine had 14 miles on it and I know it was driven for a few test drives before I bought it. 29 seems like a lot, but is still reasonable.

Some cars are apparantly singled out and tested more thoroughly at Tochigi after fabrication. If I remember right, it can add 20 miles easily to the odometer. However, *if* your car is one of these, then you can be assured that it had to meet a higher set of standards, or at least more rigorous testing than the usual s2000 produced. However, if the extra 20 miles is from dealers doing 9k clutch drops in burnouts, then it's another ballgame

For reference, mine had 300+ miles on it when I bought it, not a single out-of-the-ordinary problem in 30k of driving (the 3-4k buzz noise I consider a normal problem, as all of the first year and a half of production had it). The dealer says that mileage was from driving somewhere in Oklahoma to Ft Worth, TX during 2 dealer transfers (guess S2000s sell hard in the winter in Oklahoma!)
