Default How to lose weight?

hey guys, i started my Project last year to build my car like an race car, but also for an daily driver

My aim is to lose weight so much as i can.

so i started to remove this parts:

Reomoved the softtop
removed OEM coil overs
removed OEM brake @ the front
removed OEM wheels
removed OEM trunk
removed OEM hood
removed OEM seats
removed OEM airbags and seat belts
removed OEM Cage behind the seats
removed OEM airbox
removed OEM exhaust
removed OEM steering wheel
removed OEM mirrors
removed OEM front fenders
removed rear and front bumper

so i think this is all, maybe some other small parts, but i dont remember

SO i added

Mugen Glasfaser hardtop
Mugen Rollcage 6 pnt
Movit Big brake
CE28N with semislicks
Carbon trunk
carbon hood
recaro poleposition seats
Sparco seat belt
JS racing single exhaust
Carbon airbox
APR mirrors
JRZ Coil over suspenion
JS racing bodykuit front/rear bumper, side skirts and front fenders
and carbon wing

so i was on the scale, before i rmeoved all the parts and the result was

1 Person inside 90kg the tank was empty the car is MY2006 with air condition

1.280kg

thats ok

but i want to try to get under 1.100kg

now after all i added the parts, i dont was on the scale, maybe next year. because now is wintertime. :=)

What kind of party could i remove and what is the weight of the parts that i can remove

please tell me all that cou know, thanks

You removed the OEM steering wheel - that should reduce weight, but is it really that much that you dont need to control the car??

im assuming you replaced it with aftermarket

It looks like money isnt an issue. usually they say the first 200 lbs is free (as you just remove things) but you have definately gotten into replacing parts. You can get some carbon fiber doors.

As far as things that will be cheaper/free, depending on how daily driveable you want the car, hack away at the interior. Also cruise control/AC can take some weight off as well. If you do have an aftermarket steering wheel, you may not even use cruise control anyway, unless you moved the controls somewhere else.

Catalytic converter and header would save you a few lbs......er..kg's

So it was 1,280 before? I'd definatly weigh it now before anything else just to see where you are at. Plus....im curious!

I agree about removing the AC compressor, condenser, and lines. Also you could remove your radio, speakers, door panels, carpet, floor insulation, spare tire. Remove your entire "glove box/secret compartment".

Take that carbon wing off the trunk and throw it away (weight savings).

Seibon "wet" carbon fiber isn't much of a weight savings. If money is no option buy a dry carbon hood, trunk, doors, and fenders (note: $$$$$$).

the AC i think i will remove it, what is the weight?
the wing i will buy me an JS wing in dry carbon

but the dry carbon parts are very expensive :=(

if u have already lost the soft top rip out all the plastic shelling that sits under it....it will make a big hole down into your trunk but i think it wouldnt be to bad for DD. u could also look into a CF drive shaft.

i thought the "wet" CF hoods weighed more than a stock hood?

not sure about regulations in germany but u can loose the CAT and get a test pipe....shed a little there.

I think someone here weighed an OEM style VIS carbon fiber hood and it was about 3 pounds lighter than stock.... I'm sure some of the different style hoods weigh more than stock. That is only like $200 per pound saved, lol.

take out of the ac and carpeting. is your spare tire still in there also?

an aftermarket header would save you about 12lbs and an aftermarket high flow cat or test pipe would probably get you around 5-7 more lbs.

if you're trying to get as light as possible, why the rollbar? that thing alone probably weighs about 20+lbs. that an the wing are probably negating a lot of what you've lost.

however, i would recommend keeping the wing although some people are saying to lose it. the lighter you get, the more important that wing will become.

one thing a lot of people overlook that is easy to work on: how much do YOU weigh?

yes i know the personal weight is the best think ;=)))))))))))))

i weight round about 100kg, i have to lose weight, as much as i can. i want to be 75kg, like 4 years ago :=))

so the mugen cage is inside because for my safety. i dont trust the OEM rollbar, i feel saver in the cage. and the wing will be important for the rear, because if i lose weight on the rear and it will begin to bounce.

so, the hood is lighter than the OEM hood, definitiv.
i try to remove the AC

are their any other parts under the hood, which i can remove, which weight a lot.

header i will order JS racing, testpipe i added a few mounth ago
carbon fiber drive shaft i will buy next year. so under the trunk an hole, like the c-west car is extrem
