My longest drive in the S was only about 350 miles, but it's the most comfortable car seat I've ever used. Remember to tilt the seat back a notch or two, the full upright position is not the most comfy, but with a little angle to it, it's a dream.

longest drive was 10+hours straight.
I was extremely comfortable. rear was a little numb...go figure.
wife was not pleased, but the passenger area is not as comfortable.
if top up - consider ear plugs. the noise is not bad, but after many hours it can drone. for a 5 hours or less drive, don't worry about it.

this car is great for trips, but long frequent commutes (1.5+ hours one way) may get to be a bit much.

Seattle to Denver non-stop, about 19 hours.
Denver to St Louis multiple times non-stop, about 11 hours each way.
The S2k is a great highway cruiser although I do sometimes wish for heated seats to comfort my back after 6 or so hours.

19 hours straight, Steve???
hunghid, my wife found me a lumbar support which is essentially three small pillows sewn together as three segments. Fits fine. I don't have a picture, but it's about 4-5 inches tall, 2 feet wide (with the two "flap" pillows on each end), and the depth is really only 2-3 inches. Crushes nicely into the bottom of the seat back when sit in it.
Good luck!

From New York to Georgia and back in 5 days. 6 cubic feet of gear in 5 cubic feet of trunk. Top down the whole way. What a blast, the car was great. Only the last 100 miles or so was I starting to get uncomfortable.

I've done 3 One Lap of America races in mine with no comfort complaints. There's even enough room for over a weeks worth of luggage for two plus a few spare parts (such as a front rotor and extra brake pads), a helmet and a full set of tools. Our longest race was last year. We went from Chicago to Rochester, NY (for the start) and then traveled to Indianapolis, Tulsa, Denver, Albuquerque, Dallas, Atlanta, Summit Point (WV), Rochester and then back to Chicago. All totaled, we put on about 7000 miles in 10 days. Also, given the right frame of mind, the car can even be very comfortable to sleep in. As far as I'm concerned, long trips are no problem.

Yeah, I'm just talking 600 mile round trip, 1-3 times a year, don't seem like a big deal. The noise bothers me more than anything else. Thanks for all the great replies.

hmm, well, personally, i wouldn't be able to last past an hour in this car. I have bad back problems at such a young age.. = and often im cramped up/my lower back starts aching form the constant sitting
then again, just a rare case with my odd health problems

Im a little over 6, like 6 ft 1 or so. I drive from SF to LA and back frequently on weekends. Its a bumpy, noisy ride. I tolerate it because Im sold on the s2k's strengths, but a touring car it is NOT. The trip takes a lot more out of me now than it did in an I35, or even my old taurus sho, for instance.
Like others said, if its a routine thing for you, proceed with caution. But if its a one time deal, suck it up and let the good times roll.
