Thanks for the info. Jason. How did you know my wife has to have drinks and snacks on all our trips?? She tells me that when we get that neat bag that hooks behind the passenger seat, all our storage worries will be over!
I agree. We will just have to take some long drives and see for ourselves.....Darn

From as far as Muir Woods and Camp Pendelton...
Along HWY 1, Ortega HWY, Angeles Crest...
And even Laguna Seca...
4,238 miles...
165 hours...
Averaging 25.68 miles an hour (over the course of the hours we were gone from Austin which also includes sleep time).
=) yup, a long trip indeed!

I went about 2,000 miles from VT to NC and back in Feb... the only problem is when I was tring to sleep in the car. Kinda hard but better than the alternative (sleeping while driving).
In fact I am leaving in less than five hours to make the same trip agian.. I just have to wait until my night shift is up a 7 am. and then I am on the road for 13 hr plus... I am going down to see what this Dragon Ball run is all about.. and see the folks. It will be my first S2000 meet.. Not too many S2000 in VT I think I have seen three in the past 3 years not including the dealerships and mine.
BEST CAR FOR TRIPS as long as you do not have to sleep in the car... and do not mind no TV ( unless you put a screen in your S)

Austin, TX to Roanoke, VA and back, solo, about 1300 miles each way.
Austin to Cincinnati to Indianapolis to Chicago, then back to Austin. No idea on the mileage on the trip up, but the more direct return trip was 1150.
Laguna Seca to Chicago, 2300+ miles (included some detours) as a passenger.
Seats were comfortable, and I had no pain from sitting for so long after any of these trips. As someone with a weak back, I think that's a good testament!

Had one question: Technician at a honda dealer told me that it is very beneficial to the engine if you go for a long drive. He said that it "expands the engine" which helps the engine to perform better. What do you guys think?
