How long does it take to make an S2000?

When I bought mine last year, they had just put an order in for the color combo I wanted recently. I ended up waiting close to 2 months before finally taking delivery, but, again, the order was already put in at that point. I don't know exactly when they put the order in but I think it wasn't too much before I put my deposit down. They also kept pushing back the date they told me on when it would arrive.
I remember that they didn't have the VIN until close to the time I went to take delivery. It could've just been laziness on their part (didn't want to go track down that info) but I wouldn't worry too much about it. It was definitely one of the worst waits I've ever been through but it was worth it in the end.

Dealer searched and couldn't find any... I've asked several dealers and they all told me the same thing, so at least my dealer isn't wrong on that one.
I thought it's not normal that they still don't have a VIN for the car... but guess that's normal for Honda...
All other manufacturers I've dealt in the past always provided VIN in 1~2 weeks after I placed an order....

It will take a while. The accountants have used up all of the red ink. No more red until someone discovers a new source for the pigment.
