Default How long do you wait till you engage vtec on each trip?

do you either wait like a couple minutes after 3 bars(on the temp gauge) to engage vtec to fully ensure the oil is warmed up OR do you go for it right when you see 3 bars?

I wait for about 5 minutes after I see 3 bars. After that.... I'm religious about that, just extra security.

is the term vtec refers just to the point where it kicks or from there all the way to redline? i didn't say 9k because i'm sensitive to the diverse population that we have here.

I wait for either 5 miles or 10 mins. after reaching three bars...whichever comes first.

Its not the oil temp you should be worried about as much as the temp of all of the internal parts of the engine. I wait at least 5 minutes after it reachs 3 bars.

I wait awhile after 3 bars, more for the tranny to warm up, cold tranny at 9k isn't fun
