Default How to hide Boost from the ECU

There has been some discussions (threads) as of late in relation to my turbo and a couple of people have posed the question, "How did you hide the boost from the ECU?". Since I didn't know the answer to that, I asked my mechanic. He used something called a 'missing link'. It appears to be made from aluminum and is placed right under the MAP Sensor. It attaches with two screws and looks to be a fairly simple device. I posted this as a new thread for a couple of reasons:

1- I didn't feel like hunting down the old threads

2- I thought some of the guys with the SC might benefit from this info.

The "Missing Link" is the name of a billet check-valve. It's placed in between the throttle body and the MAP sensor. It is simply a one way valve that bleeds off positive pressure, hence the MAP sensor reads vaccum to zero, never more.

You can find them cheaper other places but here's a link to a picture and pricing information. http://store.importparts.com/cgi-bin/wfp79...t/View/CHECK02/

Yep, that's it, thanks Knowledge. I wonder why they don't list the S2000 as one of the applicable cars?

good question....the check valve, what does hiding boost do for us?

Do you know when you and Mingster are doing another dyno test?

I'm thinking about some header/exhaust combos....

Thanks,

JOhn

The check valve is necessary for those putting forced induction on the engines. The Comptech sc has an adapter in their kit already, I think, or else a new map sensor.

Mingster mentioned a dyno session; no date has been set but the Spoon header and exhaust still needs to be sent to those who are installing them, at least the exhaust. Dyno results will be of Spoon/Spoon header/exhaust as well as Mugen/Spoon and Spoon/Mugen. Mugen/Mugen with fpr has been done as well as Spoon/Mugen without fpr. Mingster has added fpr to help midrange dip on dyno.
