I usually avg. 20 - 21 mpg. That is mixed driving of probably 75% side streets 25% freeway. I do drive hard and know that I piss gas away by warming the car to two bars before I back it out of the garage.

On longer trips I get much better mileage. In fact, in one memorable trip in my 2001 I got 30mpg. That trip was done top down, A/C on and more than a few blasts up to nearly 100mph.

The S will get good gas mileage if given a chance.

This is what happens when you have too much time on your hands, a new S2000, and Excel: S2000 MPG chart

I thought I was the only one who tracked gas mileage with Excel and charts. I even have rolling averages, too. On top of that, I track fuel grade (high or medium), mile-per-gallon, dollar-per-gallon, and dollar-per-mile. Dollar-per-mile seems to factor out weather, season, and fuel grade. I average eight cents a mile.

I do all that too. I even keep track of where I bought the gas. I also thought I was the only one. The only thing I haven't done is to put it on a graph, I keep all of the data on a spreadsheet.

I've been averaging 6.8 cents per mile.

Over the years I have done this with all of the cars that I've owned. I've noticed a trend. Some gas stations consistantly yield lower mpg then others or my average. It leads me to believe that these stations need to have their pumps recalibrated. After I see the trend, I avoid those stations.
