Mods in cash and maintenance items on CC (then pay it off ASAP, but sometimes I pay cash for maintenance too)

I don't buy things unless I have the money, but I put them on my credit card, which is a student card 0% interest. But then again I've only spent $250 on mods thus far. My tires were another story and took me a few months to pay off. I only work to make my car payment, so cash is a little tight, I'm not going to be spending money on stuff I don't need.

Well, I guess most of the people who answered this post are financially savvy and responsible. I wonder if this says anything about the demographic the S appeals to.
Or it could just be that the ones who are modding their cars with huge debt or drug money aren't about to chime in.
As for my situation, one of the reasons I chose the S over some other cars was that it isn't too mod-friendly, relative to say...the Evo. I figured I wouldn't go down that slippery slope.
Well, after going to a couple of meets, and looking at all the other modded cars, I've begun window shopping online, and I do have a credit card that offers 1.99% on balance transfers for the life of the loan...

I'm with most people here, only if I have the money for the mod will I go for it. But all that changed once I moved out of my parents house. Now with a mortgage, car payment, insurance, food, electric, etc. I have no money for modding my car .

Only if I have the cash. I put it on my card and pay it off at the end of the month in full(never a balance!).

However, I don't put all my earnings (all very little of it) into car mods since I'm a poor college student and have other things to pay for (gas, payments, other stuff).

I do live with mommy and daddy tho.
living with mommy and daddy FTW!!!!

i just graduated in engineering and took a job. i expected to start putting some $$ away for mods, but i got married instead, and the paycheck only goes so far.

to date, ive bought a convex drivers side mirror and snow tires.

when my wife starts working ill look at a supercharger, i/h/e, etc, but for now i cant justify it with the car and school debt ive accrued. i bought the car new so i wouldnt have to worry about it, and i dont want to create financial and reliability problems by modifying it before im in a position to do so.

and i pay for everything, for me and for my spouse. no help from mom and dad. otherwise, FI FTW!

Aren't you all responsible!!

I've paid cash for everything so far (except for the car purchase itself, financed), but it's resulted in me not having to pay cash for some other stuff that I actually NEED like cable bill and other things that I really didn't expect.

I've been dreadfully irresponsible this year on purchases and have a $10K credit card bill that I'm dragging right now as a result of it. On the other hand, I moved out of my folks place and across the country, furnished a 2 bedroom condo with all new stuff, 47" HDTV, new skis w/boots and poles, snowboard and boots, and a solid 3 months of partying 4 days a week which I've cooled off on now. Couple of return plane tickets home weren't cheap either. Oh and a ton of new tools and gravity-fed paint guns so I can paint my Airwalker sideskirts myself!

I regret it a bit, but if I'm smart now I can have the thing paid off in 4-5 months so I'm not overly upset. It will, however, cost me hundreds in interest before it's paid off. Not a good thing.

I only do mods when I get a deal I can't refuse, or when it's under the magic $500 mark because I know I can just avoid spending $500 on something else over the next month.

Credit Card... hehe... but I pay it all off when the bill comes in. Even if you have the cash, I would just use the Credit Card because like that you can help build your credit, which is very important in your financial life. Good Credit Score will save you a lot of money.

But if I don't have the cash... I don't buy it.

I do live with mommy and daddy and I recommend that everyone does that cause you save a lot of money. Even though I don't pay rent, I save all the money that would pay for rent so that I have a downpayment for a house within a year or two...

work my ass off I go to school (pay for my own tuition and books), then work almost every day after class. I still live with my parents, so that helps out quite a bit. I pay for my own gas, and lately, for my parent's gas too ( I use my dads car quite often). my parents help me out with insurance though, and I give them a piece of my paycheck in order to pay off the car. the rest of the money goes into food, the gf, and of course, my s2k.

my parents don't want me to work. they want me to concentrate on school. so they put me on an allowance. i spend every dime of that on mods.
