I actually give my clutch pedel a swift kick with the ball of my foot, as I shift over the other ball of my foot onto the edge of the brake pedel, and blip the throttle with my heel. It works wonders.

How can you possibly drive without resting your heel on the floor? either your heel is on the floor or your leg is in the air. If I try to drive with left heel in the air, my leg starts to feel tired and ache after 10 seconds. Are you all weightlifters or what?
It is seriously not strenuous at all.

I feel just the opposite. I cannot rest my heel on the floor at all unless I'm stopped. Of course, when I'm driving, I don't leave my foot on the clutch pedal either--its on the floor.

My clutch pedal moves so much that my foot simply cannot rock on my heel to move the entire motion. Maybe I just don't understand the question, but it seems impossible to me.

Cheers

I learned that with the heel on the floor you get more control while you let the clutch slide underneath your foot. If your heel is off the ground and you begin to jerk (car jerking) for any reason, your whole body jerks, along with your foot. Heel down gives you more control if this happens. But now that I have driven stick a lot, its easy both ways. I have to say you have more control with the heel planted. Opposite when getting on it
