Default How do you drive in a slow area?

I was wondering how people drive their S2000s in parking lots or places with lots of speed bumps and stop signs. Usually 20 MPH or lower. I usually stay in first if I'm going through a series of speed bumps or stop signs, but is it better to just go 2nd and then go back to first after bump/stop? In slow speed parking lots I usually go 2nd but it starts to lug a bit.

How does everyone else drive in these conditions?

If it's less than 19mph and over two speed bumps, I use first.

If over 23mph or only one speed bump, I use second.

If between 19 and 23 mph, I shift to second in the straight in between the bumps and heel-toe down to first before taking the bump. If you time the release of the braking zone, you can get the car to kangaroo over the bumps.

Don't get me started on what I do when I drive over 30mph. That's CRAZINESS, I tell you!

Anything over 5 MPH for me on a speed bump = hits the bottom D:

Heel-toe to first? I need to learn heel-toe, haha.

really, we are heal toeing it? don't get me wrong, the heal toe works great on the track, but it it needed for speed bumps? i mean its not like we are trying to brake as late as possible for speed bumps as to maximise our times...

and as others said if there are tons of bumps that are somewhat close together, first, otherwise, low rpm in second. just do whatever feel natural to you

Ooooh! I have to try that technique. I've heard it helps train you to learn weight transfer and car balance. Combine that with heel-toeing and it's like your own mini-track day!

For some reason when I watched that, I had to "LoL".
Reminded me of a wounded bunny hop.

Depends on the specific situation a bit. I go with whatever feels best. Not all speed bumps are the same.

Maybe you're not... I try to spend as little time as possible in parking lots with speed bumps
