Cars with the F20C can be nasty when VTEC engages unexpectedly while accelerating hard off a corner, and it's bitten more than one of us.
I still remember when I hit VTEC on concrete while making a sharp corner to the onramp of a freeway... I = sideways... it suprised the heck out of me, because I had only gotten the Z06 sideways a couple of times and didn't think a "puny" 240 hp and no torque could do it... I was wrong I bet it looked cool to all of the people stopped at the other stoplights, but yeah, abrupt power (and abrupt braking) while in a turn can get you sideways in the S, no problem...

Mine is the best tuned '01 then. Really don't know when VTEC kicks in. I think that is why someone thought it was at 7K - isn't until around then that the extra power really turns into anything special like extra hustle.

[QUOTE=RED MX5,Jan 21 2008, 03:18 AM] Serious answer ...
If VTEC does not engage at 6,000 RPM, the engine will continue to pick up revs, but the power will start falling off, because the engine will still be running on the milder cam profiles.

Hey everyone, thanks again for all the replies. I really wanted to say just kidding on my previous post, but I refrained because I wanted to see some more funny stuff.
I think page one was the best.
I was comparing the feeling of a s2000(my ap2 at least) to the Integra Type R because the Type R feels so much more raw. More racecarish with its gutted doors and reinforced chassis, etc. But I guess the civilness of the s2000 makes it much more enjoyable for the average person.

A smoother transition to VTEC does not necessarily mean that the car will accelerate faster. If it did, a stock AP2/F22C would be faster than your supercharged AP1. Being a smooth driver is another matter, and does make for fast, but "kick" is just a laymans way of describing an increase in torque that is great enough to be felt. For nitrous, you could gate the nitrous at 6k using a Modifry Redline Shift Beeper. A 100 shot should make for one hell of a "kick."
Hahaha, and if it's too much, you can always add an RLTC.

[QUOTE=CKit,Jan 19 2008, 02:14 AM] Get NOS and hit the button when you cross 6k rpms!
You can hook it up to a big red button labeled TURBO BOOST!
SHY GUY is correct.
