Has anyone been able to figure out how to disable the brake assist for the 06+ cars? That Is the reason why I keep cracking rotor's at the track and would like to diable it for when I go to the track.

Thanks Rene
I've disabled the brake assist on other cars but haven't tried it on the S2000.

On many cars, the brake assist has a sensor by the brake pedal. The sensor has a 2 wire connector that can be disconnected. Don't confuse this sensor with the stop light switch. This sensor is either a speed or pressure sensor that engages when the brake pedal effort reaches a certain threshold.

If disconnecting the sensor triggers a malfunction light, you will likely lose ABS also. Reconnect the sensor connector. And see if the sensor can be repositioned or flip around 180 degrees so that it would not be actuated when engaging the brakes. IF so, this technique may disable Brake Assist and still maintain ABS.

Another solution is to disable ABS all together on the track. Under dry conditions, with enough practice, one can out brake ABS by using threshold braking.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Get an AP1 ?

I had to toss that in since so many of the AP2 guys toss that out.
AP1 in TT is actually not the car to have, AP2 MY06+ -CR is the car. I will most likely just disable everything once Im at the track. I can deal with out ABS as just about every race car I have driven never has ABS.

So when you say Ap1 is not the car to have, would you give some statical reasons?

and there's the death of this thread....

On topic - What is brake assist? It increases front brake bias during panic stops?

Im not 100% sure what exactly it does, but I do know that its the reason why I have been cracking rotor's in the past.

AP1's don't make the power that the MY06+ make stock for stock, the newer ones are also better about the bump steer problem that the older(AP1)chassis have thus the car is a more predictable car but can still catch you off gaurd if you don't have quick hands at the track.
